The Indian Team will be wearing Byju’s name on their jerseys for at least the next 18 months starting from April 2022 till the end of 2023 after the term of the last contract expired in March 2022.
The ed-tech giants have extended the deal for an estimated value of $55 million.
In 2019, Byju’s sponsored the jersey for the first time when they replaced Oppo, the smartphone brand which handed over its sponsorship after 2 and a half years.
According to reports, the sponsorship term started with the 5 T20I series against South Africa that recently concluded. Byju’s apart from Indian cricket sponsorship also has an ongoing partnership with ICC (international cricket council) which will continue till 2023.
Bjyu’s is also the official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2022 which will take place later this year in Qatar.
Indian cricket and start-ups have become a romantic story with every million-dollar startup and unicorn in India trying to advertise their brands to 1.4 billion people.
