As per reports, Paytm had requested the BCCI to end their sponsorship deal a year early to which the BCCI has agreed. Paytm has been replaced by Mastercard which is set to take the title sponsorship reins till 2023 at least. 

This event marks the end of Paytm’s seven-year association with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The value of the deal with Mastercard is 3.8 cr per match, the same as Paytm. 

Other startups like Unacademy and Upstox have also requested the BCCI to let go of their contracts early due to a decline in startup funding overall.
