This season of the Indian Premier League saw 10 teams fighting for the winning trophy. The newbie Gujrat Titans defeated the inaugural winners Rajasthan Royals to become the new IPL winners. In this blog, we are gonna show you some interesting Tata IPL 2022 records.

The finale of IPL 2022 on Sunday witnessed a great show put forward by the winners of the first-ever played IPL Rajasthan Royals and the first-time playing Gujrat Titans. The Titans who have slammed everyone with their performance in the series came out on the top with 7 wickets. This season of IPL 2022 season saw a lot of records tumbling. Fastest Delivery Bowled in IPL 2022

Lockie Ferguson bowled a 157.3 kph delivery against Rajasthan Royals to Jos Buttler on Sunday, in the IPL 2022 finals making it the fastest delivery. 

Umran Malik, Sunrisers Hyderabad bowled a delivery of 157 kph against Chennai Superkings, setting up a record of the fastest delivery by an Indian pacer. As a reward for his amazing performance received his callup to the national cricket team. He amazed spectators with his yorkers at a speed of 153 kph and took 22 wickets in the season. 

The Record for Fastest Delivery in IPL Is Still Registered with Sahum Tait (!57.71 kmph) against Aaron Finch, Delhi Daredevils. 

Record for IPL 2022 Most Sixes

Since the tournament took place on Indian pitches, it was a great opportunity for batsmen to hit shots beyond the boundary. A record of 1062 sixes was hit in the 15 season of IPL 2022, breaking the record of 872 sixes in the 2018 series.  

Jos Buttler hit the most number of sixes i.e. 45 this season. 

The record for most sixes by an individual in one season is 59 sixes by Chris Gayle in IPL 2012.

Record for IPL 2022 Maximum Runs by an Individual 

The season was outstanding for Jos Buttler, although his efforts could pull the team to the finals, they weren’t enough for the win. This opener batsmen ended up with a total of 863 runs in the stats table and the orange cap.

The total is the highest only second to Virat Kohli’s 973 from the 2016 season. 

Record for IPL 2022 Maximum Wickets by an Individual

The season was promising for Yuzvendra Chahal as he was honored with the purple cap for most wickets by any spinner in one season. The race for Purple Cap was between RR’s Yuzvendra Chahal and RCB’s Wanindu Hasaranga. In the end, Yuzvendra Chahal bagged the Purple Cap with the one wicket in the finals making it 27 wickets, breaking the record of wickets in a season by a spinner.

Before Chahal, we had  Imran Tahir with 26 for most wickets in a season by a spinner. 

Record-Breaking Crowd for IPL 2022 Final 

The final match of IPL 2022 between Gujrat Titans and Rajasthan Royals was witnessed by 1,04,859 spectators, the highest for any match. 

The previous record was 1,00,000 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata when India vs Pakistan match was played. 

Tata IPL 2022 wasn’t just another IPL series it saw some amazing performances by homegrown players and offered thrill and excitement till the end. With newbies fighting like stars to the highest trophy winners lying at the button of the points table, this season saw a twist and turn of events like no other season.
