Umran Malik, Sunrisers Hyderabad bowled a delivery of 157 kph against Chennai Superkings, setting up a record of the fastest delivery by an Indian pacer. As a reward for his amazing performance received his callup to the national cricket team. He amazed spectators with his yorkers at a speed of 153 kph and took 22 wickets in the season.
The Record for Fastest Delivery in IPL Is Still Registered with Sahum Tait (!57.71 kmph) against Aaron Finch, Delhi Daredevils.

The season was promising for Yuzvendra Chahal as he was honored with the purple cap for most wickets by any spinner in one season. The race for Purple Cap was between RR’s Yuzvendra Chahal and RCB’s Wanindu Hasaranga. In the end, Yuzvendra Chahal bagged the Purple Cap with the one wicket in the finals making it 27 wickets, breaking the record of wickets in a season by a spinner.
Before Chahal, we had Imran Tahir with 26 for most wickets in a season by a spinner.
The final match of IPL 2022 between Gujrat Titans and Rajasthan Royals was witnessed by 1,04,859 spectators, the highest for any match.
The previous record was 1,00,000 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata when India vs Pakistan match was played.
